3 HOSPITALIZED SIKHS FROM JAMMU SPEAK OUT, DOCTORS REFUSED TO TREAT THEM

3 Sikh youth who were shot at During the Jammu protests over the burning of Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa’s poster have spoken out. The youth told the media that doctors refused to treat them and they had no choice but to reach Amritsar for treatment.
The youth gave their side of the story of the events which occurred in Jammu. The Sikhs of Jammu have annually organized the remembrance event for each year since 1984.
They said the police directly fired them without any escalation and they were deliberately shot at it. A total of 4 Sikhs were shot at and 1 of them Bhai Jasjit Singh died instantly due to a shot in the head.

Jammu tense as protestors defy prohibitory orders; cop stabbed

Situation in Jammu was "tense" on Friday as Sikh youth defied prohibitory orders and held protests in various areas as part of a three-day old agitation which is spreading and saw one more policeman being stabbed and his AK rifle taken away.
Protests were also held in Kashmir besides Poonch, Rajouri and other parts of Jammu region over the death of a youth in clashes that erupted in Jammu on Thursday after hundreds of Sikhs blocked road and pelted stones at cops over removal of posters of  leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
Defying prohibitory orders, Sikh youth took to streets for the third day as protests spread over various areas in Jammu, Kathua, Poonch and Rajouri districts.


In Jammu, protests were held in various areas like Digiana, Gangyal, Canal, Tallab Tilloo, Rehari, Bakshinagar, Narwal and Gole Gujral areas. Groups of protestors blocked the Jammu-Pathakote highway and burnt tyres.
Streets of Jammu wore a deserted look and business establishments remained closed. Mobile and internet services were also suspended in Jammu. Schools and colleges in several districts of the region were closed.
Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in strength in sensitive areas of Jammu city where the situation is described by authorities as "tense but under control".
The army late on Thursday night staged a flag march in parts of Jammu following violent clashes.
Authorities had clamped Section 144 of CrPC, which bars gathering of more than four persons at a place, in the entire Jammu district and curfew like situation prevailed in violence-hit areas of Satwari-Ranibagh-Gadigarh-R S Pura belt and elsewhere.
Meanwhile, some miscreants among the protestors stabbed a policeman and fled with his AK rifle in Gangyal area of Jammu city late on Thursday night, sub divisional police officer, Jammu East Mohmmad Rafiq said.

The constable Joginder Pal, who is the personal security officer of the deputy superintendent of police (Jammu East) Mohammad Rafiq, was shifted to the GMC hospital, where his condition has improved, the police officer said. "We have recovered the AK-rifle from some people this afternoon and a case has been registered. The arrest will also take place," SDPO said.

Curfew Imposed In most part of JAMMU: prohibitory orders in Jammu

 Authorities imposed an indefinite curfew under the jurisdiction of Satwari and Miran Sahib police stations and called out Army, which staged flag march in disturbed areas late this evening, after police firing on the protesters left one civilian dead and four others injured while nearly 25 police personnel and protesters were wounded in fierce clashes between agitated mob and cops at Ranibagh on Jammu-RS Pura road under the jurisdiction of Satwari police station during the day today.
The mob was protesting removal of the posters of Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale from a flex hoarding at Ranibagh by the police personnel for second consecutive day today. Police opened firing as mob didn’t lift the road blockade and indulged in stone pelting. Protesters, however, described the police firing as totally unprovoked. Some people also fired upon a barber with an air gun.
Soon after the killing of youth in police firing, the people from particular community hit the streets at Rajbagh, Hatli Morh and Lachipur in Kathua district on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway and disrupted traffic. People also downed shutters in Nanak Nagar, Gole Gujral and Talab Tillo and burnt tyres to protest the killing of youth.
In another serious incident after the stabbing of Sub Inspector Arun Sharma yesterday, the mob stabbed police constable Joginder Pal son of Tarsem Lal (Belt No. 2101J) R/o Mirpur, Kathua,  who was posted as PSO with DySP East Mohammad Rafiq on his hand and chin and snatched his AK-47 rifle at Digiana tonight during the protests against killing of the youth. Mob pounced upon police constable Joginder Pal at Digiana, stabbed him with sharp-edged weapon, snatched his AK-47 rifle in the melee and fled away from the spot, sources said, adding that police have launched all out hunt to recover the weapon but it hadn’t been traced till midnight tonight. Accused also remained untraced.
Defence spokesman Col Manish Mehta told the Excelsior that Army has moved out in the areas from Satwari to RS Pura tonight on requisition of the district administration to restore confidence among the people and help police and para-military in maintenance of law and order.
“Soon after the deployment, Army staged flag march from Satwari to RS Pura to instill confidence among the people. The district administration had requisitioned the Army for the purpose,” Col Mehta said, adding that normalcy has been restored in all disturbed areas following deployment of troops and flag march staged by them in curfew bound areas from Satwari to Kullian.

Jammu: Sikh youth killed in police firing over Bhindranwale's posters, curfew imposed.




Curfew was imposed in Ranibagh area of Jammu on Thursday after a Sikh youth was klilled in the police firing. 
Three civilians and three policemen were also injured in the clashes which erupted due to the removal of posters of late Sikh  leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale by the police on Wednesday.
The police reportedly opened fire to control the stone-pelting mob, in which the Sikh youth was killed.
The protests started on Wednesday when local police removed posters of the champion of Khalistan cause ahead of his death anniversary on June 6.
Some members of Sikh community representing a particular organisation had put up posters of Bhindranwale and some other  leaders on Satwari-R S Pura road in Ranibagh area ahead of Bhindranwale's death anniversary function, triggering protests from the Sikh youths.
The protests soon spread to other areas where clashes were also reported between police and protesters. Protests are continuing as the agitators are demanding suspension of the SHO for removal of the posters.
