Mohalla Assi is an upcoming 2015 Bollywood satirical film starring Sunny Deol, and directed by Chandra Prakash Dwivedi .
This Movie is based on popular hindi Novel KASHI KA ASSI,a satire on the commercialisation of the pilgrimage city, and fake gurus who lure the foreign tourists.
On 30th of June this movie was supposed to be released but because of some controversial issues its release is suspended yet.
A complaint had been filed against Director Chandra Prakash Dwivedi and actor Sunny Deol of the upcoming movie Mohalla Assi, with a local organisation claiming that "expletives" allegedly used in the film hurt the "religious sentiments" of some sections.
This movie is under controversy because of maximum abuse in scenes. Even in one scene under trailer one actor who plays a dramatic role of LORD SHIVA has been seen abusing over opponent.
Hindu followers and Religion promoters has raised an issue regarding this kind of disrespect to lord shiva.
In the movie, Sunny Deol plays the role of a Sanskrit teacher, actress Sakshi Tanwar is his loud-mouth wife and Ravi Kishen as a tourist guide. The title of the film comes from the famous Assi Ghat which is one of the major tourist attraction of Varanasi, The movie was shot in 2011 but was shelved for a while.
